CHP representatives stand in front of the newly-acquired building almost one year ago after closing on the facility.

On Oct 31, 2018 papers were signed that made Carriage House Players (CHP) the official owners of the property located at 301 Market Street East, now referred to as The Carriage House.

“The property was purchased with the intention of converting it to a community event center and a home for CHP theater,” said Mickey Johnson, who chairs the building committee. “Here we are, one year later, and we have begun the demolition of the existing walls so we can begin construction of The Carriage House Event Center.

“We are excited to play an integral role in the growth of the downtown area,” he said, noting that the multiple functional building will easily accommodate business and social events such as meetings, catered events, weddings, parties, reunions, etc. “Our dedicated labor of love will serve as an asset to the community.

“We feel that when The Carriage House is complete, it will bring additional revenue and growth to the downtown area,” he said. “In order to make this dream come true, we are kicking off a Building Fund Campaign.”

The organization is looking for 100 people to donate $100, which will help it reach its goal of $10,000 for the 2019 campaign.

“Please consider helping us by making a monetary contribution to our building fund,” he said, adding that other amounts may also be donated. CHP is a non-profit organization; therefore, your donations are tax-deductible.

Donations can be sent to CHP, PO Box 916, Fayetteville, TN 37334.
