Carriage House Players held its annual Adnia Rice Awards Banquet on Saturday, March 2, to recognize excellence from the 2018 season.

Nominations were made by the director of each show, and winners were selected by the voting membership. Winners were as follows:

Best Set: Jennifer Bradford and Mickey Johnson for Murder’s in the Heir; Best Lighting: Brenda Wilkes for Murder’s in the Heir; Best Sound: Josh Eakin for Smoke on the Mountain; Best Hair/Make-up: Mary Ashley Webb for Murder’s in the Heir; Best Costumes: Jennifer Bradford, Andrea Delap, Sara Jo Pierce for Murder’s in the Heir;

Best female actor in a bit role: Sonya Williams for Three Nightmares; Best male actor in a bit role: Mark Mitchell for Mama Won’t Fly; Best female actor in a supporting role: Sara Brown for Smoke on the Mountain; Best male actor in a supporting role: Dale Pierce and Garrett Rutledge for Smoke on the Mountain; Best female actor in a major supporting role: Nancy Rutledge for Mama Won’t Fly; Best male actor in a major supporting role: Ben Spears for Smoke on the Mountain;

Best female actor in a leading role: Sara Brown for Mama Won’t Fly; Best male actor in a leading role: Lonnie Ables for Smoke on the Mountain; Best Play: Mama Won’t Fly, director Andrea Delap; President’s Awards: Hannah Williams, Jennifer Bradford, Tessa Aldridge, Tiffany Quick, Beth Jones and Sonia Bradford; and Member of the Year: Lonnie Ables.

Carriage House Players has already started its 2019 season strong with the stage classic, Arsenic and Old Lace. The cast has been set for the second production of the season, Savannah Sipping Society. Directors Brenda Wilkes and Mickey Johnson, along with Assistant Director Sara Jo Pierce, are happy to announce the cast. The comedic ensemble cast includes Tana Adams, Brandi Barnes, Donna Hartman and Tiffany Quick.

The remainder of the season will include Shrek and An Evening with Shakespeare: Much Ado About Nothing and All the World’s a Stage. These shows will be presented at The Lincoln County Museum.

The annual theatre fundraiser by The Voices of Carriage House during the Christmas season will be presented at the newly-purchased, still under renovations event center at 301 E Market Street. Your local community theater group continues to appreciate your support and patronage as they enter this exciting new stage of their journey.
