Santa’s helpers in the 52nd Annual Lincoln County Toy Drive will hold their first buy night next Tuesday, Nov. 27, at the Dollar General Market behind McDonald’s on the Huntsville Highway in Fayetteville.

It’ll be the first of three buy nights in which the community is invited come out and help shop for the kids. Subsequent buy nights are planned for Tuesday, Dec. 4, at Walmart and Thursday, Dec. 13, back at Dollar General Market. Each of the events get underway at 6 p.m.

Spearheaded by the Fayetteville Fire Department, Fayetteville Rotary Club and The Times, the Lincoln County Toy Drive provides toys for Christmas for local children up to the age of 12. Last year’s campaign benefited 570 children from across the community.

Every year organizers arrange the buy nights at local businesses that carry a good inventory of toys, enough so as to meet the needs of the drive. Helpers are given the ages and gender of the children and shop for appropriate toys. Monetary donations given to the effort are used to purchase the toys.

Anyone wishing to help in shopping for toys for the benefiting children is welcome to join Rotarians, firemen and Times’ staffers, as well as other volunteers, on one or all of the buy nights.
