Several ceremonies honoring veterans are planned throughout the community on Veterans Day weekend.
The community-wide ceremony will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Fayetteville Recreation Center, home to the Warrior Project, a lasting tribute to veterans who have ever lived here in Lincoln County.
The photo tribute, which lines the walls of the Recreation Center, located at 1203 Winchester Highway, features local heroes from all branches of service, including the National Guard, Reserves, Merchant Marines and Coast Guard, as well as the traditional branches of service.
Local schools also have ceremonies planned for Friday, Nov. 10.
The community is invited to the Veterans Day program on Friday, Nov. 10, at Lincoln County High School.
Breakfast will be served at 8 a.m. in room 43.
The program begins at 9 a.m. in the gymnasium.
Guests and veterans should park and enter the building from the south parking lot, the gymnasium entrance.
