Even the extreme heat Thursday evening didn’t keep a large group of local music lovers from coming out to enjoy Music in the Park, featuring Strangers with Friends. A record crowd of close to 200 was on hand for the free outdoor concert at Stone Bridge Park.

Fayetteville’s Music in the Park live concert series continues this week with “Travelin’ Kind” performing.

The concert is set for Thursday, July 27, at 6:30 p.m. at Stonebridge Park.

Visitors are invited to come out, bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the free live concerts outdoors throughout the summer in the beautiful city park.

The series is sponsored by the Fayetteville-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce, the City of Fayetteville and the Fayetteville Parks and Recreation Department.

Southern Crossroads, whose concert was canceled in late June due to inclement weather, will perform on a rescheduled date, Aug. 10, at 6:30 p.m.

C&R Buggy Tours will be offering carriage rides around the scenic park during this week’s concert.
