Tigers move into first place; ladies drop two games

Fayetteville High School’s Tigers moved into first place in District 8-A regular season action with wins over Cornersville and Eagleville last week. On Friday, FHS won at home over Cornersville, 72-50. Tuesday, they won at home over Eagleville, 66-58.

With one week remaining in district play, Fayetteville is 7-1 (14-9); Eagleville, 6-1 (14-9); Cascade, 5-3 (8-14); Moore County, 3-5 (5-19); Cornersville, 2-7 (4-15); Huntland, 1-7 (4-19).

Friday night at home, Cornersville got off to a slow start, putting their first points on the board in the final two minutes of the period. FHS won the frame, 10-5.

Both teams put 20 points on the board in the second period. Fayetteville was up 32-25 at the break.
