Fayetteville High School Tigers’ season on the hardwood came to an end in the second round of Region 4-A tournament action. FHS went down to LEAD Academy, 65-51.

It’s the third time for the Panthers to end the Tigers’ run in the win-or-go-home portion of the region.

In other region action, Cascade won over Franklin Grace Christian, 75-50. The win sent the Champions to the title game with LEAD. Cascade finished on top, 51-46.

Two Tigers received All-Region honors, Isaiah Watkins and Julius Dixon.

The sectionals get underway on Monday of this week. Cascade takes on Clay County, and LEAD matches up with Monterey.

“We just never got our game on track or got in any type rhythm,” Tiger Coach Chris Murdock said. “The first half we gave up easy baskets on turnovers and could never recover.”
