Destiny Thornton has been awarded the Fayetteville Main Street Teen Board Scholarship for her hard work and dedication, according to Carol Foster, Main Street director.

Destiny, a 2016 graduate of Lincoln County High School, was a member of the 2015-16 Fayetteville Main Street Teen Board. She will be attending Motlow State Community College.

“Over the past year, I have had the wonderful opportunity to be a part of the Main Street Teen Board,” Destiny said of her service on the board. “It has provided me with a better chance to get involved in the community. Main Street Teen Board has given me the chance to volunteer at large community events, such as the Host of Christmas Past and the Slawburger Festival.”

Destiny’s future plans are to attend Motlow State Community College to pursue a degree in business administration before transferring to the University of Tennessee Chattanooga for her bachelor’s degree.

“I would like to thank the Main Street Board for this scholarship,” she said. “It will be very helpful for my future plans.”
