St. Paul AME Church’s annual Tea and Crumpets, An Afternoon of Tea and Conversation, was held March 4 at the Fayetteville Recreation Center. With Alderman Dorothy Small as the mistress of ceremony, the event honored a number of local ladies, including Dr. Teresa Morrison, Fordie Franklin, Eva Settles, Jessie Campbell, Joyce Eady, Lucy Williams, Carolyn Denton, Dr. Tanja Holsey, Nancy Blackwell and Vice Mayor Gwen Shelton. Guests were also entertained by youths of the church and enjoyed a reality fashion show, as well as a performance by Together Again, including Mrs. Small, Sara Jo Pierce, Andrea Delap and Odessa Dangerfield, singing “I’m A Woman”. ~ Staff photos by Sandy Williams
