White Castle has honored honor Paul Johnson from Taft for his passionate dedication to the “Crave”, having taken frozen The Original Slider international to Singapore, Panama, Central America and Russia.
Paul, a self-proclaimed all-time Craver, was traveling to meet his wife’s family in Singapore and decided to deep freeze 10 frozen sliders he had purchased at his local grocery. Carefully wrapping and freezing the individual boxes of Sliders and packing them in a soft shoulder cooler allowed Johnson to take them on his 24-hour journey to see his in-laws. Upon arrival, Johnson found the Sliders still quite cold, and he introduced his wife’s family to the Crave.
So successful was Paul’s international Crave that he repeated the process when he traveled to Panama to see his brother and later to Central America and Russia.
“We’re always fascinated by the lengths Cravers will go to feed their insatiable desire for The Original Slider,” said Jamie Richardson, vice president at White Castle. “This elite honor is truly dedicated to those Cravers who make these memorable moments and show their loyalty to the Crave.”
The Cravers Hall of Fame induction was scheduled for Monday, Oct. 28. The Class of 2013 flew to Columbus for a 2 p.m. ceremony at the White Castle home office. A reception and private dinner followed the ceremony at 6 p.m. at the Ohio Historical Society.
“The Cravers Hall of Fame is the way White Castle shows our appreciation for the loyalty and dedication of our fans,” said Richardson.
Since the launch of Cravers Hall of Fame in 2001, 147 inductees have been honored with this distinguished award.
