The Stone Bridge Garden Club met at the home of Teresa Brown, with Cindy Kite and Barbara Cantrell co-hostessing.
Teresa said grace before a delightful luncheon of pulled pork, baked beans, salads and all the trimmings. Teresa outdid herself with a wonderful Sundrop cake with lemon ice cream.
The ladies enjoyed the 38 arrangements and 128 specimens the members had brought to the meeting.
President Cindy Kite opened the business meeting and thanked the hostesses for preparing the food and drinks. The monthly workers reported on the work that they had accomplished at the public gardens. The June workers were Teresa Brown and Patty Patrick, plus Landscape Chairman Faye Liddie.
Faye told everyone of the upcoming sewer repair to the library that would go through the middle of the larger garden in front of the library. She explained that they would probably only need to remove one boxwood and one azalea to complete the work.
Unfortunately, more than half of the garden was excavated, and Faye worked diligently to replace the plants and flowers. The July workers are Cindy Kite, Anita Seifert, and Brenda Underwood.
Following the business meeting, the ladies participated in an arrangement workshop, led by Patty Patrick. Each member was working toward her yearly requirement of three arrangements. The assortment of available flowers that each member brought to use and share filled the room. Several very unique arrangements were designed, as the hostess had requested that each member bring a “non-vase” to use in creating their arrangements.
The next meeting was to be at Faye Liddie’s homewith Brenda Underwood co-hostessing. Faye requested that everyone bring a summer hat to decorate for the Pasta Premier in August.
Besides the hostesses, those ladies participating in the meeting were Connie Glazner, Linda Gentle, Addie Hodges, Faye Liddie, Martha Lyon, Patty Patrick, Anita Seifert, Eda Tabor, Abby Underwood, Brenda Underwood, and Vicky Small. The guests were Julie Bankston and Liza Glazner.
