Star Wars fans invited to library event

There are some exciting programs coming up at Fayetteville-Lincoln County Public Library, and you are invited.

Are you a Star Wars fan? If so, you will want to join us for our Star Wars Event on Thursday, Dec. 14, from 5 to 8 p.m. This popular event is for families and will be lots of fun! There will be food, crafts, games, a costume contest, prizes, photo-opportunities and Star Wars books and movies available for check-out. Be sure to dress up as your favorite Star Wars character.

There’s no need to sign up – just show up at 306 Elk Avenue North in Fayetteville. For more information, call the library at 931-433-3286. We’ll see you at the library on Dec 14th!

The Library Student Advisory Board is sponsoring a “Children’s Literacy Book Drive” going on now from Nov 15-Dec 18. This is an opportunity to share your pre-loved children’s books. Donation boxes are located at Riverside Christian Academy, Fayetteville High School, Fayetteville Middle School, Lincoln County High School, Unity, South Lincoln, Highland Rim Elementary and Ralph Askins Elementary. Donated books will be given away to Junior’s House and Head Start.

Other fun programs upcoming at the library are as follows:

Holiday Book Folding, Dec. 14, 2-4 p.m. for adults. We are asking people to sign up at the library or by calling the library at 931-434-3286.

ARTE Classes meet Tuesdays at 4 p.m. and is open to teenagers. Upcoming ARTE programs include, on Dec 5, 16 mm film study with Dr. Michael Hartman of Motlow, 5-7 p.m.; Dec 12, ARTE Christmas Party; Dec 19, Cartooning and Web comics;             Dec 26, No ARTE class the week of Christmas
