Dallas Baptist University’s Skylar McDonald was named the Heartland Conference Women’s Player of the Week, as announced by the league office last week.
McDonald, a freshman from Fayetteville, had a big weekend and was a key contributor for the Lady Patriots this past weekend where the team enjoyed a 7-2 win over UA Fort Smith and a 5-3 victory above Arkansas Tech.
McDonald recorded four stellar wins in both singles and doubles matches on Saturday, earning a 4-0 record. McDonald provided the clinching match for the Lady Patriots over Arkansas Tech in a third set showdown where McDonald came out on top, 6-4.
With last week’s announcement, McDonald becomes the second freshman from DBU and third athlete from DBU women’s tennis team to earn Heartland Conference Player of the Week honors. McDonald joins Mikayla Rinker, a fellow freshman honoree, and senior Ana Marija Banic.
