This year’s silent auction, held during the annual Winter Gala, is full of items that are sure to impress, according to organizers.

The auction is held annually in conjunction with the gala, hosted by the Fayetteville/Lincoln County Friends of the Library. The 2013 gala will be held Saturday, Jan. 25 from 6-8 p.m. at the Fayetteville/Lincoln County Library on North Elk Avenue.

Among items to be featured in the silent auction are a pair of tickets to a Titans game, tanning gift certificates, and a condo in Florida. Local artists have also been exceedingly generous again this year, donating a range of items from pottery and gourds to etchings and paintings.

“These are only a few of the items that will be up for auction, so make sure you bring your checkbook because you’re going to want to take something home,” said a spokesperson for the group.

Members of the FOL will also be serving wine and hors d’oeuvres. And the local jazz group, The Blue Velvet Combo, will be helping rock the night away.

Tickets for this year’s event are $35 and can be purchased from Friends of the Library board members, the Bank of Lincoln County, and Carter’s Drug Store as well as online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2014-winter-gala-tickets-9519484033.

This event has been instrumental in helping the Friends raise funds to support many different programs at the library including the eReads, electronic reading program and many of the children’s events that have taken place throughout the year. Organizers invite you to come out and support your library.
