The 4th Annual Run for Ella was held recently at Elk Cotton Mill Preserve. One hundred and eighty one entries participated in the 10K, 5K and one mile walk. One hundred percent of the funds raised help children in Lincoln County that have been injured in an accident. One of the recipients of this year’s event is Colton Parkin who was injured in an accident in July. Colton was life-flighted to Vanderbilt where he underwent two surgeries to repair muscles, ulner and radial nerves and the brachial artery in his arm. Colton continues his recovery with a long road ahead of him in therapy. Sam Howell was the 5K men’s winner of this year’s race with a time of 25:01. Christine Pigg took the ladies 5K with a time of 32:25. Eric Shell was the 10K men’s winner in 48:48. Amanda Clifton won the ladies in 1:04:00.
