Religious activities for June 5 edition

Smithland Community Church will hold homecoming services on Sunday, June 9. Singing begins at 10 a.m., with preaching to follow at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served in the fellowship hall after preaching. Everyone is welcome.


St. Paul AME Church will celebrate Men’s Day on Sunday, June 9, at the 11 a.m. worship service. The Rev. Randy Brown of Nashville is the featured speaker. The church, pastored by the Rev. Chris Grizzard, is located at 521 College Street West. Everyone is invited.


Decoration Day at Campbell’s Cemetery will be held Sunday, June 9, with lunch at 12:30 p.m. at Corders Crossroads Schoolhouse. Donations are needed for the upkeep of the cemetery. Donations may be mailed to Nancy Corder, 68 Corders Crossroads Road, Kelso, TN, 37348.


Regina Taylor will give her first sermon at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday, June 9, beginning at 11 a.m. Craig Carmichael is the church’s pastor.


Mt. Olive M.B. Church will be holding a late spring revival on Sunday, June 9, through Tuesday, June 11, at 7 p.m. nightly. There will be a different speaker each night. An invitation is extended to the entire community. John E. Brown is pastor of the church.


First Baptist Church will host Vacation Bible School on June 10-14 at the church, located at 210 N. Elk Avenue, Fayetteville. VBS, for ages three years through fifth grade, will be held each day from 8:30 until 11:30 a.m. There are also classes available for moms. Friendship Stateline Freewill Baptist Church is hosting a gospel singing on Saturday, June 15, at 7 p.m. Special singers for the event are “By Faith” of Manchester and Denise Hopkins-Jaco of Toney, Ala.
