Mother’s Day Tribute, hosted by Fayetteville First Seventh Day Adventist Church and Dr. Theodore Brown, pastor, will be held Saturday, May 3, at 11 a.m. The theme is “Women of Faith”, and the speaker for the event will be Dr. Edith Frasier of Huntsville, Ala. Mrs. Wanda Tate of Fayetteville will be the guest soloist. Mrs. Virginia March and Ms. Amenia Landers will be recognized for their dedicated Christian service in the community, church and in their homes. Lunch will be served immediately after the program. At 3 p.m., Dr. Frasier will hold a forum discussing women’s issues. The program is sponsored by the Women’s Ministry Department. Fayetteville First SDA Church is located on 385 William D. Jones Boulevard.


Decoration Services at Lebanon Cemetery will be held on Saturday, May 3, at 11 a.m. Donations may be mailed to Birdie Johnson, 11 Luttrell Road, Fayetteville, TN, 37334.


Mother of the Year Banquet, hosted by New Haysland Missionary Baptist Church Mother’s Board, will be held on Saturday, May 3, at 6 p.m. The banquet will be held at the South Central Human Resource Building on Winchester Highway. Annual Women’s Day Celebration will be held Sunday, May 4, at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Decherd. Speaker will be Mrs. Barbara Rice from Goldsboro, N.C.  Mrs. Rice was born in Clarendon, Jamaica, and grew up in England. She has been involved with ministries in England and Germany. The public is invited to hear Mrs. Rice as she shares a message of encouragement and hope.


Pastor Gary Ross Hill Memorial Service will be held Sunday, May 4, at 2:30 p.m. at the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Timothy Wright will deliver the message. Everyone is welcome. Craig Carmichael is pastor of Mount Zion, located at 305 West Maple Street.


Homecoming at Parks City Baptist Church will be held Sunday, May 4. A singing by Denise Hopkins-Jaco will begin at 10:30 a.m., with worship services at 11 a.m. For more information, call (931) 433-5002. The church is located at 2863 Huntsville Highway.


Homecoming at St. John AME Church, Mulberry, will be held Sunday, May 4. Afternoon services begin at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Nathan Frey and Mullins Chapel AME Church, Shelbyville, as special guests. The Prosperity Cemetery Association will hold its 119th Annual Meeting and Decoration Day on Saturday, May 10, at the Prosperity Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in the Yukon community. The meeting will start at 11 a.m., followed by a business meeting and election of officers for the coming year. The president of the association will show a presentation about Decoration Day of American Military Cemeteries overseas. There will be a potluck lunch after the meeting, and everyone is invited. Donations for the upkeep of the cemetery will be accepted at that time, or they may be mailed to Prosperity Cemetery Association, 233 Henry Thompson Road, Taft, TN, 38488.


The Youth Choir Anniversary at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church will be observed on Saturday, May 10, at 4 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Mount Zion is located at 305 West Maple Street. Craig Carmichael is pastor.



Gospel Singing will be held at Taft Full Gospel Church, 1129 Old Railroad Bed Road, Taft, on Saturday, May 10, at 7 p.m.  The singing will feature Denise Hopkins-Jaco of Toney, Ala. For information, call (931) 937-6027.

John Long Noonday Bible Ministry is being held each Wednesday at 12 noon at St. Paul AME Church at 521 West College St. This Bible Study is open to everyone but especially to those who are unable to attend an evening Bible Study.  If you work at night, unable to drive at night, or if your church doesn’t hold Bible Study, etc., members invite you to join them each Wednesday as they study the Word of God.
