Holy Week liturgies continue at St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church on Wednesday, April 16, at 7 p.m., Holy Eucharist.


Evening Maundy Thursday Service will be held Thursday, April 17, at 6 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church Sanctuary. “Jesus in the Passover” will be the focus of the service at the church, located at 200 Elk Avenue North.


Maundy Thursday will be observed at St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church on Thursday, April 17, at 7 p.m., Holy Eucharist with Foot Washing, Stripping of the Altar and Gethsemane Vigil.


“The Seven Last Words” will be presented by Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church on Friday, April 18, at 7 p.m. Everyone is invited. John E. Brown is the church’s pastor.


Good Friday service at West End CPCA will be held Friday, April 18, at 6:30 p.m. Ministers in the Fayetteville community will preach the sermon, “The Last Seven Words Uttered by Jesus on the Cross”. It will be preached in seven sermonettes. Special music will be presented. The Rev. Dezi Fletcher Sr. is pastor of West End CPCA.


Good Friday Tenerae Service will be held Friday, April 18, at 6 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church Sanctuary. FUMC is located at 200 Elk Avenue North.


Good Friday services will be held Friday, April 18, at 7 p.m., at St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church, Passion Liturgy with Veneration of the Cross and Holy Communion.


“The Seven Last Words of Christ” by legendary composer Joseph Haydn will be presented by The Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church on Good Friday evening, April 18, at 7 p.m. It will be presented free of charge as an offering to the community, and there will be a nursery provided. Joining the Adult Choir of the church offering will be friends from the community, a string ensemble and a quartet of soloists. The ARP Church is located at 1720 Huntsville Highway.


A gospel singing will be held at New Life Heart to Heart Church on Saturday, April 19, at 6 p.m. Singing groups featured are The Joyful Hearts and the Cooks. The church is located at 1922 Wilson Parkway. Everyone is welcome.


Holy Saturday will be observed Saturday, April 19, at St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church, 10 a.m., Scripture and Meditation at the Tomb, and 8 p.m., Great Vigil of Easter and Holy Eucharist.


St. Paul AME Church Homecoming will be celebrated Sunday, April 20, at the 11 a.m. service. The Rev. Ralph Johnson, presiding elder of the Chattanooga District, will be the speaker. Dinner will be served following the service. At 2 p.m., the youth of the church will present an Easter Drama with liturgical dance. Everyone is invited to attend. The Rev. Chris Grizzard is the pastor.


Easter Sunrise service will be held on Sunday, April 20, at Browns Temple AME Church, where the Rev. Lance Shelton is pastor. The speaker will be the Rev. Craig Carmichael, along with the choir and congregation of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. The service will begin at 6 a.m. with breakfast served immediately following. Everyone is invited.


Easter Services at New Life Heart to Heart Church will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, April 20, and an Easter meal will be served after the service.  On Easter Sunday evening, there will be a gospel singing starting at 6 p.m., featuring the Sloan Family. Derrick Jones is pastor of New Life Heart to Heart Church.


Easter Morning Sunrise Service at First Presbyterian Church will be held Easter Sunday, April 20, at 7:30 a.m. on the east side of the church property, located at 101 Mulberry Avenue. Sunday School begins at 9 a.m. with church service in the sanctuary at 10:15 a.m.


Easter Morning Services at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church will be held Sunday, April 20, at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. The church is located at 200 Elk Avenue North.


Easter Sunday will be observed on Sunday, April 20, at St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church, 8 a.m., Holy Eucharist, and 10:30 a.m., Festival Holy Eucharist.


Sunrise service will be observed at 6 a.m. on Sunday, April 20, at Mary’s Chapel AME Church, 10 Wilson Road, where the Rev. Ernest M. Latham is pastor. Special guest will be the Rev. Chris Grizzard and congregation from St. Paul AME Church, Fayetteville. Breakfast will be served.


A spring revival will be held at the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 305 West Maple Street, on April 23, 24 and 25 beginning at 7 p.m. On all three nights, the speaker will be Pastor Chazen Brown of Nashville. There will also be a music ministry. As always, everyone is welcome. Craig Carmichael is pastor of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.


Brothers in Unity Gospel Explosion Tour 2014, presented by Virtuous Productions, will be held Saturday, April 26, at 6 p.m. at Ninth Grade Academy on South Main Avenue in Fayetteville. Featured groups are Darrell Petties and Taken 2 of Memphis; The New Coverted Voices of Tupelo, Miss.; The Wells Brothers of Earle, Ark.; Revised of Plantersville, Miss.; Broken of Nashville; and Shawn Moore & New Fellowship of Huntsville, Ala. Renaissance Quartet, the nationally known and award-winning quartet of Bethel University, will be in concert on Sunday, April 27, during the 10:30 a.m. worship service at Fayetteville Cumberland Presbyterian Church. The public is invited to attend the concert, which will last approximately 45 minutes. No sermon is planned for the service. Fayetteville Cumberland Presbyterian Church is located at 1015 Lewisburg Highway.


Mary’s Chapel AME Church will host Homecoming on Sunday, April 27. Guest for the 2 p.m. service is Elder Sandy R. Kinslow, pastor, and congregation from Meridianville Bottom Primitive Baptist Church. Dinner will be served after morning services. The Rev. Ernest M. Latham is host pastor.


Homecoming at Parks City Baptist Church will be held Sunday, May 4. A singing by Denise Hopkins-Jaco will begin at 10:30 a.m., with worship services at 11 a.m. For more information, call (931) 433-5002. The church is located at 2863 Huntsville Highway.


John Long Noonday Bible Ministry is being held each Wednesday at 12 noon at St. Paul AME Church at 521 West College St. This Bible Study is open to everyone but especially to those who are unable to attend an evening Bible Study.  If you work at night, unable to drive at night, or if your church doesn’t hold Bible Study, etc., members invite you to join them each Wednesday as they study the Word of God.
