Redstone collects for tornado relief effort

Redstone Federal Credit Union has opened an account to collect monetary donations for disaster relief efforts in Oklahoma, following the destructive tornado of May 20.

All proceeds collected in the account will be donated directly to the American Red Cross of Central Oklahoma. Anyone can contribute to the account by making a deposit at any Redstone branch. Redstone members may also make a donation by transferring any amount they choose to the donation account, inside Redstone’s online banking. Instructions on how to transfer funds to the account are available at redfcu.org.

“Establishing this account, and encouraging our members to give whatever they are able to, during this difficult time for the residents of Moore, Oklahoma, is just part of our social responsibility as a credit union,” said Redstone President and CEO, Joe Newberry. “Here at Redstone, we live by the credit union motto of People Helping People.”

“The heart wrenching loss that the people of Oklahoma are experiencing right now resonates very deeply with members of our credit union, because many of them have seen tornado-devastated communities first hand, or may even experienced the loss themselves,” Newberry said. “We have already seen a great response since opening this account Tuesday afternoon, and are confident that members will continue to give generously, to help the residents of Moore, Oklahoma persevere though this trying time.”

The account will remain open for donations through Sunday, June 30.
