Dan Owen, (fourth from left) Lincoln County Extension agent, receives the Charles and Julie Wharton Award at the University Of Tennessee Institute Of Agriculture Awards Luncheon. Dan has been with the University of Tennessee Extension since 1995 and in Lincoln County since 2005. In addition to coordinating a local 4-H program with over 2,100 members, he coordinates the 4-H and livestock events at the Lincoln County Fair, serves as chairperson of the Central Region Livestock Judging Contest, Central Region Dairy Judging Contest, Building Better Beef Show, Area Public Speaking and Area Project Fair. He coordinates a multi-state exchange trip each year and has had national winning livestock judging teams at several events. Dan is a native of Lincoln County and lives in Taft with his wife, Charlotte, daughter, Janna, and son, Clay. He is active in his church and his children’s sports activities. “Thanks to Dan Owen for all his accomplishments, and congratulations,” said David Qualls, Lincoln County extension agent and county director.
