The old Shrader Auto Parts building, located at the corner of College and Washington, is scheduled for demolition in coming months.
“The old Shrader building owner, SJ&L Contracting, has had the asbestos removed and is planning on removing the structure this fall or winter time-frame,” said Jeff Siefert, city planning and code director, during the last meeting of the Fayetteville Regional Planning Commission. “As of right now, he (the owner) was not specific in what his future plans are for this site but did say he wanted to develop it as soon as possible.”
Siefert’s comments came in a report city planners following hearings he requested with the owners of three buildings, two of which are downtown.
