City police officers responding to a call on the Fourth of July were assaulted by a hostile crowed wielding fireworks on Robertson Street.
Three arrests have been made in connection with the incident. Charged were Toddrico Demonte Bean, Brandon Michael Moore and one juvenile.
Patrolmen were dispatched to the area regarding a complaint of fireworks, according to police. Upon arrival, officers encountered large crowds of people in the street around midnight.
The officers and their vehicles were pelted by fireworks, according to police reports. Three police vehicles were damaged during the incident, a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe, a Chevrolet Impala and a Crown Victoria. The windshield was cracked on one vehicle.
