Gloria Cecelia “Pat” Collins, 65, of Ardmore, Ala., died Saturday (Dec. 7, 2013) at her residence in Ardmore. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Jimmy Collins and Bro. Steve Hargrove officiating. Interment will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, Ala. Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Robert Dale Corder, 53, of Mulberry, died Monday (Dec. 2, 2013) at Huntsville Hospital. He was born in Lincoln County on April 17, 1960 to the late James Robert and Joan Young Corder. He was a farmer and was of the Pentecostal faith. Mr. Corder is survived by his wife, Julie Lisa Corder; daughters, Elyssha and Macey Corder; brothers, Doug and Sonya Corder, Danny and Tina Corder, all of Mulberry; nieces and nephews, Clint and Staci Corder, Heather and Jason Lamb, Holly and Alex Hoagland, Lyle and Lyndsay Corder, Michael and Kelly Davis, Nikki and A.J. Jones, Whittney Davis, Clay Gill, Curt and Tara Painter, Jacob Painter; great-nieces and nephews, Riley and Raegan Corder, Avery Lamb, Gracey and Lilly Hoagland, ChaCha and Clay Jones, Madisyn Davis, Bo and Ledue Painter, Logan Davis; mother-in-law, Jewell Painter; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Anis Davis and Curtis and Tammy Painter. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Lones officiating. Burial followed in Champ Cemetery. Hilda Victoria Kirschner Gilliam, 85, of Fayetteville, died Saturday (Nov. 23, 2013) at her residence. She was a native of Dade County, Fla., and the daughter of the late Erick and Justina Sanchez Kirschner. She was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic Church. Survivors include her daughter, Jean Woodall and husband, John, of Flintville; brother, Charles Young and wife, Liz, of Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren, Laura Stewart and husband, Brad, of Blanche, Chris Young and wife, Carolyn, of Atlanta, Ga.; and sister, Betty Blake of Miami, Fla. There are no services planned. Higgins Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Myrtle Gillum, 95, formerly of Sarasota, Fla., passed away at Donalson Care Center on Wednesday (Nov. 27, 2013). She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Pope of Elora, and a son, James Gillum of North Port, Fla.

Ida Thomison Knott, 94, of Fayetteville, died Wednesday (Dec. 4, 2013) at Donalson Care Center. She was born on June 3, 1919 in Lincoln County. She is preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Warden Thomison, Sr.; her husband of 36 years, Joe Knott; her parents, John Henry and Katie Lee Snoddy Drake; her granddaughter, Vivian Denise Thomison; and all her siblings. She is survived by sons, Warden (Joann) Thomison, Jr., of Fayetteville, Robert (Mary Ann) Thomison of Livonia, Mich., William (Clarita) Thomison of Ladson, S.C., Charles (Yolanda) Thomison of Rex, Ga.; son of her heart, Zachary Wilson of Marietta, Ga.; special niece, Martha Thompson of Talladega, Ala.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the St. Paul AME Church. Burial followed in Pleasant View Cemetery. Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

James (Jimmy) Osborne, 85, of Fayetteville, died Tuesday (Nov. 26, 2013) in Huntsville Hospital. He was a native of Elora and the son of the late Fred and Leona Dodson Osborne. He served in the Army 82nd and the 101st Airborne Division during the Korean War. He attended the Fayetteville First Baptist Church. Mr. Osborne was a retired operating engineer for Local 150, retired from the Illinois Central Railroad after 25 years and a former business owner. Upon retirement, he returned to his home in Tennessee. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Jeannette Watson Osborne of Fayetteville; seven children, Kathi Hutnik and husband, James, of Chicago Heights, Ill., Jana Range and husband, Bill, of Waterloo, Ill., Terri Falletti and husband, Dennis, of Somonauk, Ill., Robin Osborne-Grue and husband, Dave, of Castle Rock, Colo., Lisa Marthaler and husband, Ed, of Homewood, Ill., Fred Osborne of Fayetteville, Jimmy Osborne, Jr., and wife, Sonja, of Hazel Green, Ala.; 25 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Saturday morning (Nov. 30) at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Van Johnson officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery. Jimmy K. Schmidt, 42, of Flintville, died Sunday (Dec. 1, 2013) at Lincoln Medical Center. He was born in Lincoln County on March 25, 1971 to the late Henry Schmidt and Judy Johnson Schmidt, who survives. He was employed by D&J Farms as a truck driver and was a member of Elora Baptist Church. Mr. Schmidt is survived by his wife, Cindy Woods Schmidt of Flintville; sons, Justin Schmidt and Blake Schmidt, both of Flintville; mother, Judy Schmidt of Elora; brother, Danny and Angie Schmidt of Elora; nieces, Wendy and Paul Dickey of Huntland, Emily Schmidt of Elora; nephews, Joseph and Alison Schmidt of Flintville, Devon Schmidt of Elora and Landon Arnold of Huntland. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon (Dec. 4) in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with the Rev. Milton Martin officiating. Burial was in Gatlin Cemetery. Gary Upchurch, 67, of Fayetteville, died Thursday (Dec. 5, 2013) at Huntsville Hospital. Funeral services were held Sunday in the Berea Church of Christ in Lewisburg. Burial was in Berea Cemetery. Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
