There will be door prizes, food by Madison River Barbecue, along with Memories by Mellisa and Wreaths by April.
Vendors are also welcome.
There are few things that can’t be found in this store. It features used furniture, glassware, books, lamps, mirrors, cookware, pictures, knickknacks, some antiques and much more. Additionally, the store carries handmade memory quilts and crocheted quilts.
“I wash everything and clean everything before I put it out,” said Kathy Hill of Kelso, who, along with her husband, Stan, owns the store.
A layaway plan is available.
The variety store is located at 2928 Huntsville Highway in the former Pizza Plus building, next to Mathis Flooring. The Hills, owners of the building, recently opened the store and named it in honor of their grandchildren, Macy and Jackson. Kathy formerly operated the “Yellow Ribbon” store in the same location in early 2000.
The couple has been involved in furniture sales for decades. Stan’s father previously owned and operated Hill’s Bargain Barn in Parks City.
Kathy laughs as she tells a story about the day she first married Stan.
“I got married at 25 and that day his daddy asked us to go to Huntsville to help get some furniture,” she said.
For years, Kathy ran her father-in-law’s furniture store also.
The new variety store is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. For additional information about the store, contact Kathy at (931) 993-2504.
