U.S. Rep. Scott DesJarlais, M.D., and the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) will be hosting an educational seminar on Nov. 13 from 10 until 11 a.m. at the Lincoln County Senior Citizens Center.
The session will provide information and counseling to assist Medicare beneficiaries and their families in making decisions about Medicare and the new Prescription Drug Benefit program.
“I’m proud to partner with TN SHIP in providing these valuable informational sessions,” said DesJarlais. “I know how important Medicare is for Tennessee families, and I remain committed to ensuring that our seniors will continue to have access to all the resources provided to them by this program.”
The State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) is a national program, sponsored by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which offers one-on-one counseling assistance to people with Medicare and their families. In Tennessee, SHIP is sponsored by the Tennessee Commission on Aging and Disability and is locally managed by the Southeast Tennessee Area Agency on Aging and Disability, a program of the Southeast Tennessee Development District.
