The McBurg Community Center will host its Annual BBQ Day on Saturday, Sept. 2, offering fun for the entire family.
Activities get underway at 10 a.m. with a Voodoo Customs Car and Bike Show. Registration is $20 per entry, and participants must register by 12 noon. Awards will be presented at 2 p.m.
There will also be tickets for a 50/50 drawing, a baked goods contest (entries must arrive by 9 a.m.). Vendors can also set up at 10 a.m. for a $10 fee.
From 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., kids’ activities will include train rides, face painting, and inflatables, as well as other events. The cost of armbands is $10. From 2-3 p.m., a children’s pageant, with the theme “Down on the Farm”, will be held. Registration is $10 by 1:30 p.m. A grandparents’ pageant follows.
Organizers will begin serving barbecue at 10:30 a.m., and at 11:30 a.m., an antique tractor parade will get underway. From 1-2 p.m., gospel music by Charity Williams will be presented, and at 3:30 p.m. a cornhole tournament will be held (registration $10 by 2:30 p.m.).
From 4-6 p.m., the Highway 64 Band will perform.
