Six Lincoln Futbol Club players have earned playing positions in the Tennessee State Olympic Development Soccer Program.

The six players, Savannah Cox, Sara Casey, Leslie Frye, Lindsey Owens, Caragan Treola and Eve Schoenrock, completed tryouts and earned placement in the Tennessee State Team Pool in mid December.

The six Lincoln Futbol Club athletes, along with Kirsten LaPlante, also from Lincoln County and affiliated with Tennessee Soccer Club, competed in Regional Play recently in Gainesville, Ga.

Cox and Casey play for the TN00 team. Frye, Owens, Treola and Schoenrock play for the TN99 team. LaPlante plays for the TN98 team. The Tennessee State Teams competed against state teams from Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina throughout the weekend.

In addition to their travel club soccer affiliations, ODP players compete throughout the southeast and southwest against other states throughout the spring and early summer.

International play for the TN98 and TN99 teams will take place in Germany this summer.

Lincoln Futbol Club, coached by Roger LaPlante of Fayetteville, won the Tennessee State Title last spring in Division III and will be competing this spring in Division II play. Lincoln Futbol Club will begin spring workouts in mid-February at the South Lincoln Sportsplex.
