Due to frigid temps and in some cases, the flu, Lincoln County Schools, Fayetteville City Schools and Riverside Christian Academy have all pushed back their return to session following the holidays until Monday, Jan. 8.
Lincoln County Schools were scheduled to return to session Thursday, Jan. 4, but due to the low temps and taking measures to ensure a smooth return to session for the start of the second semester, that has now been pushed back to Jan. 8. The school system posted today that it is hoped this decision will allow those to get well before school resumes. Staff development for teachers and staff scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 3, however, will occur as planned.
Fayetteville City Schools also announced today that its planned return to session, scheduled for Friday, Jan. 5, will now be Monday, Jan. 8. FAST will also be closed. Staff development, however, scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday will be held as planned.
Riverside Christian Academy was scheduled to return to session Thursday, Jan. 4, but that has also been delayed to Monday, Jan. 8, due to moderate cases of the flu and frigid temperatures. Teacher in-service will continue as scheduled Wednesday, Jan. 3. And, Jr. Pro basketball games will be played on Saturday, January 6, as scheduled.
