Lincoln County High School’s Lady Falcon volleyball team picked up a win at home over Franklin County, 3-1, on “Pink Out Night” raising awareness of cancer.
It’s the ladies’ second victory over the Lady Rebs during the regular season. Lincoln County also won over Franklin County in weekend tournament action.
In the first game, the Lady Falcons never trailed, taking the win, 25-22. Early in the second game, LCHS was up 10-5, but once the Lady Rebels knotted it at 15-15, the ladies trailed the balance of the game. Franklin County took the game, 21-25.
Game three saw the ladies come back from being down at one point, 9-17. Trailing 23-24, Rachael Carroll took the serve and knotted it at 24-24. The Lady Falcons picked up the next two points to finish with the win, 26-24.
In game four, the ladies took the lead at 9-8 and never trailed again. Up 21-18, the Lady Falcons picked up the next four points to finish on top, 25-18.
Prior to varsity action, the JV team played and won, 25-13 and 25-14.
Wednesday’s game with Giles County was canceled by the Lady Bobcats.
On Tuesday, the ladies traveled to Loretto to meet a strong Lady Mustangs and went down, 3-0, with scores of 25-14, 25-17 and 25-7. It’s the second win for Loretto over LCHS this season. In their first meeting, the Lady Mustangs took the win, 3-1, with scores of 21-25, 25-9, 25-12 and 15-18.
For their next action, the ladies were to host Lawrence County and Johnson High School on Monday in a tri-match, then travel to Tullahoma on Thursday with JV action starting at 5 p.m.
