Lincoln County High School’s Lady Falcons dropped two games in the Cannon County Thanksgiving Classic, falling to Lancaster Christian on Saturday after taking a loss to Cannon County on Friday.
Saturday the ladies went down to Lancaster’s Lady Knights, 44-39. The ladies won the first quarter, 9-5, but went cold in the second, losing the period, 18-4, and trailing 23-13 at the intermission.
LCHS pulled to within 5 with less than five minutes in the fourth quarter but that was as close as it would get. The Lady Knights won the second half, 26-22, for the win.
Makinley Fitch led for the ladies with 11; Khaila King, 9; Brianna Sanders and McKinley Slayton, 6; Morgan Higgins, 4; and Cortney Storey had 2.
Lincoln County was 5 of 14 from the line. Slayton hit 2 from the arch.
Friday the ladies went down to Cannon County, 64-43. LCHS trailed 24-15 at the intermission. Early in the fourth quarter, the ladies knotted it at 43-43, but the Lady Lions went on a 21-0 run in the final minutes to finish with the win.
Morgan Higgins led for LCHS with 14; Cortney Storey, 11; Khaila King, 7; Darian Norman, 5; Brianna Sanders and Lauren Gower had 3.
For their next game, the ladies open their District 8-AAA action, traveling to Columbia Friday night with tip-off at 6 p.m.
