“CHP’s staging of this beloved story promises to deliver the classic tale with the flair of our own hometown talent that this community has come to expect from our productions,” said Krysa Spears, the play’s director.
“This particular adaptation is very true to the Capra film. Our goal is to present our own interpretation, while still preserving the integrity of the story.”
Auditions will be held on Aug. 19 and 20 at 6:30 p.m. in the Fayetteville-Lincoln County Museum Theatre, located at 521 Main Avenue South. Please arrive 15 minutes early to complete audition forms.
The show calls for a large cast, including 10 men, 10 women, 2 boys (7-14 yrs) and 2 girls (7-12 yrs). Roles range from the principal roles of George Bailey, Mary Bailey, Henry Potter and Clarence Odbody to several supporting roles. Bit roles and non-speaking roles are also available. No specific preparation is required prior to the auditions.
“Anyone willing to work with us to bring this story to our stage is certainly encouraged to attend the auditions,” said Spears.
Performance dates will be Nov. 7, 8, 9, 14, 15 and 16. Rehearsal will be on Tuesday and Thursday nights with additional evenings and weekends closer to the performance dates. Joining Mrs. Spears will be Sonia Bradford as assistant director and Ben Spears as technical director.
