The Lincoln County Republican Party

will meet Thursday, Sept. 5, at 7 p.m. in the Fayetteville Municipal Auditorium.  U.S. Rep. Dr. Scott DesJarlais will be the speaker.



Gates open for the 109th Lincoln County Fair

, on Saturday, Sept. 7, at 1 p.m. All you can ride for $20, including fair admission, concert, and armband. The 13th Annual Barbecue Cook-off is at 11 a.m. Kohlwater performs at 7 p.m., Craig Campbell at 8 p.m., and Gretchen Wilson at 9 p.m.



Fall Classic Dressage Show

Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 7-8, hosted by Greystone Riverdale Events and Riverdale Farms, 314 Eldad Road, Fayetteville. This is a Level 2 sanctioned dressage show with Charlotte Trentleman out of Florida as the judge. Concessions are available on the grounds. Free admission. Quarter Horse, Pony and Mule Races


get start at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8, at the Lincoln County Fair. Gate admission is $7, with all-you-can-ride armbands for $20 from 1-5:30 p.m.


Challenge of the Super Bulls Bull Riding

at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, at the Lincoln County Fair. Gate admission is $7.


Harness races

at the Lincoln County Fair get underway at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10. Evening harness races will begin at 7 p.m. Gate admission $7, and it is also Senior Citizens Day.


Demolition Derby

will begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at the Lincoln County Fair. Harness races will also be held at 2 p.m. Gate admission is $7.


Looking Back: The Civil War in Tennessee

Harness Races


at 2 and 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12, at the Lincoln County Fair. Gate admission is $7. It is also LCF Sponsors Coupon Night, and it’s all you can ride, $15 with a coupon or $20 without a coupon.


Sanctioned Truck and Tractor Pull

begins at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, at the Lincoln County Fair. Harness races will also be held, beginning at 2 p.m. Gate admission is $10.


The Mearse family reunion

Fifth Annual Run for Ella

Final day of the 109th Annual Lincoln County Fair

is Saturday, Sept. 14. Gate admission $10 and $20 for an all-you-can ride armband. Harness races at 1 p.m. with antique tractors between races, 4 Miles Gone at 7 p.m., Payton Taylor at 8 p.m. and Colt Ford at 9 p.m.



The 15th Annual McBurg Trail Ride

will be held Sunday, Sept. 15, with pullout at 1:30 p.m. Cost is $10 per person, which includes a meal and ride. A chicken supper will be served from 6 until 7 p.m., and there will be drawings for prizes. A negative Coggins is required for horses. For more information, contact Jamie Jones at 931-625-5077. A District 2 Town Hall meeting

will be held Thursday, Sept. 19, at 6 p.m. at the Petersburg Town Hall. All citizens are invited to attend. The meeting is hosted by commissioners Grady Reavis, Ben Brown, and John Thorpe.



The Breakfast Buzz

will be held 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19, at Shoney’s. Hosted by the Fayetteville/Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce, the event offers businesses an opportunity to tell about their services and background during a roundtable event. Call (931) 433-1234 for information.



The Class of 1993

will hold its 20th reunion Friday and Saturday, Sept. 20-21. On Friday a family picnic will be held at King Park at 6 p.m. Everyone should bring their own food and drinks for the evening. On Saturday the reunion will be held at the Fairgrounds beginning at 7 p.m. (BYOB). Cost is $30 per person or $60 per couple, if paid in advance. Northeast Alabama Craftsmen’s Association and 250 Craftsmen and artists will hold its Fall Craft Show

Sept. 20, 21, and 22 at the Von Braun Civic Center, Huntsville, Ala. This is a tax-exempt organization benefiting Huntsville charities. On Friday and Saturday the show will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sunday from 12 noon to 5 p.m. in the VBC South Hall, 700 Monroe Street. There is no admission fee. Fourth Annual Imagination Library 5K Run and One-Mile Walk

will be held Saturday, Sept. 21, at Stone Bridge Park on the Thornton Taylor Parkway in Fayetteville. Late registration begins at 6:30 a.m. with the 5K starting at 7 a.m. and One-Mile Walk at 8 a.m. Awards at 8:30 a.m. Pre-registration is $25 for the 5K, or $30 the day of the race; and $10 for the walk; T-shirts are $15. Petersburg’s Cool Autumn Night Cruise In

Camp Blount Bicentennial Celebration

will be held at Stonebridge Park. Friday, Sept. 27, will be student day, while Saturday, Sept. 28, will be open to the public. Events, demonstrations, and portrayals will get underway at 9 a.m. on Saturday and continue throughout the day until 5 p.m. with the camps close to the public. Family Caregiver Support Group meetings for Alzheimer’s and other dementias

are weld the first Wednesday of each month from 10-11 a.m. at 101 West Lincoln Street, Tullahoma. RSVP to Home Instead Senior Care at (931) 454-2202.



Weekly Saturday night dances

are held at the American Legion Post 42, 2007 Wilson Parkway, from 7-10 p.m. The dance is open to the public, and the facility is a nonsmoking building, though a smoking area is provided outside. Country Roads Band plays a mix of country, country rock and classic rock and roll music. The cover charge is $5 per person. The kitchen grill is open for the sale of sandwiches, fries and soft drinks. The American Legion is a nonprofit organization, and proceeds from the dances helps in the funding for the aide to the veterans of Lincoln County.



Lincoln County Senior Citizens Center’s Senior Dance

is held each Tuesday from 1 until 4 p.m. Cover charge is $3 per person. A live band is on hand to provide music. Bring a dish to pass or just come and relax, listen to music, dance, eat and enjoy. The Senior Citizens Center is located at 908 West Washington Street, Fayetteville.



Alcoholics Anonymous
