Vietnam Era Veterans

of Shelbyville/Bedford County will meet on Thursday, Nov. 7, at 6 p.m. at the VFW on Depot Street in Shelbyville. Featured speaker will be Lee Orman, veterans services officer. Cost is $10 for the meeting and home-cooked meal. To make reservations, call Tom Taylor at 931-684-2557.


Carriage House Players will present It’s a Wonderful Life

, a play adapted for the stage by James W. Rodgers and based on the film by Frank Capra. Performances will be at 7 p.m. on Nov. 7, 8, 9, 14, 15 and 16 at the Fayetteville-Lincoln County Museum Theatre. There will also be a 2 p.m. matinee on Nov. 9 in conjunction with Host of Christmas Past. Ticket prices are $12 for adults and $8 for students. Flintville Elementary School is holding its Fall Festival

on Nov. 8. This is a fun night for the whole family. Games, including fishpond, spooky school mare, cakewalk and others, will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. A turkey and dressing dinner will be served from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m. At 7:15 p.m., there will be special drawings and a basket auction starting 7:30 p.m.


Fayetteville Main Street will be hosting a “High Tea”

the Saturday of the Host of Christmas Past on Nov. 9. A new menu will be served with lots of changes for those who attend “Lace, Linens & Luxury”. The High Tea will be held at two times, morning at 11 a.m. or 1 p.m. in the afternoon. Tickets are $15 per person, with limited seating available at U.S. Bank, 220 East College Street. Host of Christmas Past

will be held Nov. 8-10 in downtown Fayetteville. On Friday the festival will be underway 5-9 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. with all day activities and entertainment, and Sunday, 1-5 p.m. with the Home Tour and limited events. For details, visit

Second Annual Kiwanis Reindeer Run


will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9, beginning at the Fayetteville/Lincoln County Public Library. The 5K begins at 7:30 a.m., followed by a one-mile walk at 8:30. Registration is $25 for the 5K and $12 for the walk. For information, call (931) 433-1234.



Autism Awareness and Support


is the focus of a new parents’ group being started in Lincoln County. The group will have its first meeting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Fayetteville/Lincoln County Public Library.

Family Caregiver Support Group meetings for Alzheimer’s and other dementias

are weld the first Wednesday of each month from 10-11 a.m. at 101 West Lincoln Street, Tullahoma. RSVP to Home Instead Senior Care at (931) 454-2202.


Weekly Saturday night dances

are held at the American Legion Post 42, 2007 Wilson Parkway, from 7-10 p.m. The dance is open to the public, and the facility is a nonsmoking building, though a smoking area is provided outside. Country Roads Band plays a mix of country, country rock and classic rock and roll music. The cover charge is $5 per person. The kitchen grill is open for the sale of sandwiches, fries and soft drinks. The American Legion is a nonprofit organization, and proceeds from the dances helps in the funding for the aide to the veterans of Lincoln County.


Lincoln County Senior Citizens Center’s Senior Dance

is held each Tuesday from 1 until 4 p.m. Cover charge is $3 per person. A live band is on hand to provide music. Bring a dish to pass or just come and relax, listen to music, dance, eat and enjoy. The Senior Citizens Center is located at 908 West Washington Street, Fayetteville.


Alcoholics Anonymous

meetings are held each Monday and Thursday at 7 p.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church, located at 106 East Washington Street in Fayetteville. For more information, call (931) 227-7908.


Senior citizens’ exercise classes

are currently being held every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. at the Fayetteville/Lincoln County Senior Citizens Center. Denise Kendrick is the exercise instructor. For more information, call (931) 433-7271 or stop by the center at 908 West Washington Street.
