Notable Women in Medieval History Lecture Series, a free five-week series, will be held 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursdays March 1-29 at the Fayetteville-Lincoln County Library, 306 Elk Ave. North.
A benefit event for cancer patient Aaron Coats will be held at the Elora Community Center on Friday, March 2. Food will be served at 4 p.m. featuring a ham supper for $7 or hot dog and chips for $3.50. A gospel singing will begin at 6 p.m. followed by an auction at 6:30 p.m.
Team Arlie Benefit will be held Saturday, March 3, at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds. A dinner, with chicken, baked beans, and cole slaw, will be held at 5:30 p.m., followed by a live auction at 6 p.m. Monetary donations may also be sent to First National Bank, 405 West College Street, Fayetteville, or made at any FNB location. Plates are being pre-sold for $20 each. Three-year-old Arlie Wolfe is undergoing treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The 32nd Annual Fabulous Fifties Show, “Road Trippin’”, will be is set for performances at 7 p.m. March 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, and 24 and at 1:30 p.m. on March 17, 18 and 24, at 900 South Main Avenue in Fayetteville. Tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for children ages 4-12, and free for children ages 3 and under if held by adult. Overeater’s Anonymous meets each Tuesday at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, Classroom 207, at 200 North Elk, Fayetteville. Compulsive overeaters and food addicts are invited to attend. Overeaters Anonymous (OA) is not a diet club. There are no dues or fees or weigh-ins. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop eating compulsively. Weekly Saturday night dances are held at the American Legion Post 42, 2007 Wilson Pkwy., from 7-10 p.m. The dance is open to the public. The facility is a nonsmoking building, though a smoking area is provided outside. Country Roads Band plays a mix of country, country rock and classic rock and roll music. The cover charge is $6 per person. The kitchen grill is open for the sale of sandwiches, fries and soft drinks. The American Legion is a nonprofit organization, and proceeds from the dances helps in the funding for the aide to the veterans of Lincoln County.
Lincoln County Senior Citizens Center’s Senior Dance is held each Tuesday from 1 until 4 p.m. Cover charge is $4 per person. A live band is on hand to provide music. Bring a dish to pass or just come and relax, listen to music, dance, eat and enjoy. The Senior Citizens Center is located at 908 West Washington Street, Fayetteville.
