PrintStory time at the Fayetteville-Lincoln County Public Library is each Wednesday at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.  The Jan. 8 story time is themed Happy Birthday Elvis! On Jan. 15, it’s Winnie the Pooh. The Itsy Bitsy Spider and Cinderella is featured on Jan. 22 at 4 p.m., and on Jan. 29 it’s Alice in Wonderland Mad Hatter Tea Party.


Vietnam Era Veterans monthly evening meetings will be held at Mike’s All American Diner on the second Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. with speakers every month in 2014. The next meeting will be held Jan. 9 and will feature Mark Blair, formerly of the U.S. Air Force. For more information about the meetings, call Tom Taylor at 931-684-2557.


Veterans are invited to attend monthly breakfasts hosted by Vietnam Era Veterans on the second Saturday of each month. The next one is set for Saturday, Jan. 11, at 8:30 a.m., at Mike’s All American Diner, 1842 North Main Street, above the Shelbyville Walmart. The 4th Annual Wine Tasting presented by the Southern Tennessee Ladies’ Society will be held Jan. 25, from 7 until 9 p.m., at the Franklin County Country Club. Tickets are $20 per person in advance or $25 at the door. Light hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction will be held. 17th Annual Lincoln County Sweetheart Pageant will be held Saturday, Feb. 1, beginning at 2 p.m. in the gym of Fayetteville High School. Sponsored by the Fayetteville/Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce, the pageant is open to girls from newborns to age 18. The application deadline is Jan. 24 at 4 p.m. For information, call (931) 433-1234.


A benefit and auction for Adrionna Hadley, an eight-year-old who was diagnosed with epilepsy at age one, will be held Feb. 15 at the Charles Gleghorn Building from 4 until 8 p.m. Adrionna will undergo brain surgery at Vanderbilt Hospital on Feb. 24. Cash donations may be made at any Regions Bank in the Christy Flynt Family Benefit Account.

All American veterans are invited to weekly breakfasts hosted by Vietnam Era Veterans. Breakfast is held at the new “Base Camp”, Mike’s All American Diner, 1842 North Main Street, Shelbyville, each Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. No reservations are needed, and it will be Dutch treat. Family Caregiver Support Group meetings for Alzheimer’s and other dementias are weld the first Wednesday of each month from 10-11 a.m. at 101 West Lincoln Street, Tullahoma. RSVP to Home Instead Senior Care at (931) 454-2202.


Weekly Saturday night dances are held at the American Legion Post 42, 2007 Wilson Parkway, from 7-10 p.m. The dance is open to the public, and the facility is a nonsmoking building, though a smoking area is provided outside. Country Roads Band plays a mix of country, country rock and classic rock and roll music. The cover charge is $5 per person. The kitchen grill is open for the sale of sandwiches, fries and soft drinks. The American Legion is a nonprofit organization, and proceeds from the dances helps in the funding for the aide to the veterans of Lincoln County.


Lincoln County Senior Citizens Center’s Senior Dance is held each Tuesday from 1 until 4 p.m. Cover charge is $3 per person. A live band is on hand to provide music. Bring a dish to pass or just come and relax, listen to music, dance, eat and enjoy. The Senior Citizens Center is located at 908 West Washington Street, Fayetteville.


Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are held each Monday and Thursday at 7 p.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church, located at 106 East Washington Street in Fayetteville, and each Wednesday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m. at The Basement, located at the corner of East Market and Franklin in Fayetteville. Senior citizens’ exercise classes are currently being held every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. at the Fayetteville/Lincoln County Senior Citizens Center.
