The bodies of three individuals were discovered late Monday morning at a southern Lincoln County home about a mile north of the state line, and then, several hours later, a fourth body was found at another home just miles away.

Sheriff Murray Blackwelder said the murders are believed to be connected, the result of a domestic situation.

Authorities were still working late Monday to confirm the identities of the four persons, which included two women, one of which was pregnant, and a toddler, approximately 12 months in age. Officials have not released any details pertaining to the fourth body found Monday evening.

“We got a call about 10:25 this morning to do a welfare check – a child was inside the house crying,” said Blackwelder. “When we arrived at the scene, some friends had gotten the child out of the garage.

“We discovered three bodies inside the home,” he said. “As of this time, we do not know the causes of death and do not have a positive identification on any of them.”

The residence where three of the bodies were located, a rental property, is located at 3264 Huntsville Highway, less than a mile from the Alabama/Tennessee state line. It is just to the south and across the highway from South Lincoln Market and Deli.

The second crime scene is located near the corner of Monks Road and Fox Wood Drive, which is just a few miles from the Huntsville Highway home.

Authorities were also working to develop a suspect in the case, said a spokesperson with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, which is working the case along with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department.

Late Monday, authorities put out a “BOLO” (Be On the Look-Out) for a 2003 Toyota Corolla, light colored, possibly white, with four doors. The vehicle has the Alabama tag of 47T67K7.

The man behind the wheel of the vehicle is believed to be Warren Vincent Crutcher, Jr., a black male, approximately five feet, 11 inches in height, and weighing 165 pounds. He is 24 years of age.

Crutcher is sought on a probation violation out of Madison County, Ala., but was identified as a person of interest in connection with the case.
