Balloon release

Catherine Rogers, a student at Flintville School, pauses for a photo during a recent balloon release conducted in her honor by her fellow students. Catherine is currently at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital receiving treatment after a cancer diagnosis.

Flintville Elementary School recently held a food drive to benefit families in the Flintville community.

Thanks to the efforts of the school, about 900 items were collected in a three-day period.

Students’ efforts to help others didn’t stop there – the school recently conducted fundraiser for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Pennies for Patients. This program is to help children with cancer.

The school raised over $4,800. Organizers extended special thanks to the students, parents and local businesses that helped make this fundraiser a great success, as well as too Bank of Lincoln County, Park City branch, for counting the money.

Students at Flintville School have been touched by cancer as fellow student Catherine Rogers is currently at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital receiving treatment after a cancer diagnosis. Catherine will be there for four weeks.

The students at FES miss Catherine and wish her a speedy recovery. They wanted to let her know how much she is loved, so a balloon release was done in her honor.
