Fayetteville High School’s Beta Club has qualified for the National Beta Club competition to be held in Savannah, Ga.
McKenlee Jean, Mollie Cunningham, Kat Collins, DJ Horton, Erin Bradford, John Robert Bagley and Garrett Gardner won the rapid response competition and will be the competitors for the nationals.
The team also won an award for Outstanding Leadership at State Beta Club Leadership Summit held in Gatlinburg.
“This was the second year for FHS students to attend the Beta Student Leadership Summit,” said Sylvia Weathersby, the school sponsor. “Students enjoyed meeting other Beta members from not only Tennessee but other states as well.
“Students had breakout sessions with renowned motivational speakers Bill Cordes and Kelly Barnes, and FHS sophomore Beta member Garrett Gardner was brought on stage by Kelly Barnes and commended for his communication skills in one of the activities,” she noted. “Not only is the summit a time to be inspired by the guest speakers and get to know other Beta members, but it is also a time for our Beta members to bond and brainstorm ways to improve our Beta Club.”
