Lincoln County High School’s Falcons won in action last week against Franklin County but went down on the road to Tullahoma in a battle for the top slot in the district.

The Falcons are now 12-6 overall. In District 8-AAA standings, Tullahoma is 4-0; Lincoln County and Columbia, 3-1; Lawrence County, 2-2; Franklin County and Shelbyville are 0-4.

“The Tullahoma game was one of those that could have gone either way,” said Coach Chad Tipps. “We played hard, but we didn’t deal with their press as well as we should have – we didn’t shoot the ball as well as we have from the floor.

“At the point we’re at in our schedule, it’s important that we put it behind us and get ready for the district games this week. We’ve got Columbia and Shelbyville at home. All we can do with the past is use it to make us better.”

The Falcons got off to a slow start, trailing 15-8 at the end of one.

Both teams picked up 18 points in the second, and Lincoln County trailed 33-26 at the break.
