Lincoln County High School’s Falcons (4-2) had three games in five days last week, all at home. LCHS picked up wins over Coffee County and Loretto but went down to Hazel Green.

This week, the Falcons open District 8-AAA action, traveling to Shelbyville Friday night.

The Eagles are 1-4 with their win coming from Upperman, 43-42.

“We’re getting better,” Coach Chad Tipps said of his Falcons. “I want us to get more consistent and not waste so many possessions – we need to make every shot count offensively.

“Defensively, we’re doing a pretty good job pressuring the ball,” Tipps added. “We’re working to make every shot a tough shot, not giving up the easy baskets.

“Shelbyville will bring a lot of speed Friday night,” he continued. “They’ve got a guard-oriented team and not a lot of size inside. They’ve got a new coach, Stan Eggleston, and they’ll improve as their season progresses. I’m sure it’ll be a fast-paced game.”
