Fair promises fun for all ages

Lincoln County Fair Opening DayThe 109th Lincoln County Fair, set for Sept. 6-14, once again promises fun for the whole family with music, bull riding, the demolition derby and the always-popular harness races.

Concerts by Gretchen Wilson and Colt Ford highlight this year’s entertainment.

Admission is 7 for ages six and up. Under six are admitted free of charge. A season pass is $35. Parking inside the Fairgrounds is $5.

Admission on the first Saturday night of the Fair is $20 and includes admission, the concert and ride armband, while admission on the second Saturday night is $10 and includes admission and the concert.

Grandstand attractions for the week kick off Saturday, Sept. 7, with music by Kohlwater at 7 p.m., Craig Campbell at 8 p.m. and country music’s Gretchen Wilson at 9 p.m.

Quarter horse, pony and mule races get underway on Sunday, Sept. 8, at 1:30 p.m., with the “Challenge of the Super Bulls” bull riding set for Monday, Sept. 9, at 7 p.m.

Evening harness races are set for Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m., and Thursday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m. Daytime harness racing is at 2 p.m., each day from Tuesday, Sept. 10, through Friday, Sept. 13, and at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14.

The Demolition Derby is set for Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m. The sanctioned truck and tractor pull is Friday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m.

The Fair culminates with a night of country music entertainment on Saturday, Sept. 14, beginning with 4 Miles Gone at 7 p.m., Payton Taylor at 8 p.m. and Colt Ford, who drew a huge crowd during his last Fair appearance here, at 9 p.m.
