The John R. Massey Camp No. 152, Sons of Confederate Veterans, will meet on Thursday, Oct. 11, in the Fayetteville Municipal Building.
Camp Commander Dr. James Armitage will call the meeting to order at 7 p.m.
Dr. Michael Bradley will be the guest speaker for the evening. Dr. Bradley is a retired professor from Motlow State Community College and has written several books on Middle Tennessee and the Civil War. He is also the past Tennessee Division Commander of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Dr. Bradley’s topic will be “The 150th anniversary of General Forrest’s West Tennessee raid of December 1862.”
The regular camp business meeting will follow the program.
The meeting and program are free and open to anyone interested in southern history. The Sons of Confederate Veterans is a heritage organization for men who have an ancestor who served honorably in the Confederate army or navy.
