Donations of canned goods are being accepted throughout the month of November at Gerald’s Foodland on West College Street for Provision Port here in Fayetteville.

“The need for food is great, so we need this year’s collection to be the greatest yet,” said Danny Pigg, Provision Port’s board president. “Remember we are a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency, so any donation, whether food or cash, is tax-deductible!”

Additionally, Provision Port and WAFF out of Huntsville will be teaming up again this year for a can-a-thon on Thursday, Dec. 6, in the Walmart parking lot from 4:30 a.m. until 6 p.m.

“We distributed over five tons of food last year, and we’ve had a big demand again this year,” Pigg added. “Please help to make this drive the most successful one yet.”
