“Faith with Our Whole Hearts: A Day with the Daniels” is being planned as a benefit for six-month-old Caleb Daniel, the son of Zack and Ashley Daniel, at Sullivan Farms Park off Donelson Parkway in Franklin.
Born in April with half of his heart severely underdeveloped, Caleb has Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). He has already had two major heart surgeries and undergone numerous other procedures while being at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital most of his short life. The infant will require a great deal of therapy, more surgery, and many lifelong medications.
Caleb is one of Zack, who grew up here in Fayetteville, and Ashley’s five children – his siblings are Kate, age 10, Jake, 7, Cooper, 5, and Bo, 3.
Several friends in the Nashville area close to the couple decided to plan a fundraiser to help with baby Caleb’s medical expenses and to have a fun day to show the Daniels how much they are loved and supported.
The event, “A Day with the Daniels”, will be held from 12 noon until 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17, at Sullivan Farms Park and include barbecue and drinks for sale as well as a variety of children’s activities, live music and a silent auction.
As part of the fund-raiser, a barbecue contest will also be held. For additional contest details, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
There will also be an inflatable jumpy and games for the kids, face painting, a bike sale tent, and a Khona ice truck with cocoa and coffee.
Additionally, the family’s Sullivan Farms’ neighbor Nicole Serraiocco will run her first marathon in honor of the Daniel family on Dec. 14. All funds raised will go directly to the Daniel family to help and support baby Caleb. Donations for her run for Caleb can be paid online at https://www.youcaring.com/runningwithmyWHOLEheart.
