The community’s first baby of 2017 at Lincoln Medical Center arrived Tuesday, Jan. 3. Paisley Lynn Jones was born to Amber Mitchell and Kyle Jones of Petersburg. The New Year baby entered the world at 1:50 p.m., weighing seven pounds and 14.8 ounces and was 20 inches in length.
She was delivered by Dr. Theresa Morrison of Stonebridge Medical Associates.
To celebrate the birth of the New Year baby, the family was given a basket full of gifts. Items included diapers, baby wipes, infant bathing station, monitors, blankets, grooming items, bathing kit, portable changing set, and forehead thermometer, all donated by Lincoln Medical Center.
Gifts given by Lincoln County businesses included two $50 gift cards for Shoney’s and Marvin’s Family Restaurant, donated by Dan Holt and LC Vending; a silver dollar from the Bank of Lincoln County; a year’s subscription to The Elk Valley Times donated by Lucy Williams and staff; Caring for Your Baby and Young Child from Birth to Age 5 book donated by Dr. Kyle Spears, pediatrician; $50 Walmart gift card, donated by First Commerce Bank; a children’s book and cookbook donated by The Exchange; electrical outlet plug protectors donated by Fayetteville Public Utilities; an 8×10 photo donated by Joe Rogers with iCapture Photography; and a $100 donation from Bagley and Bagley Insurance Co., which was used to purchase a jungle discoveries play mat, wearable baby carrier, and additional bathing items.
