Lincoln County’s Middle School basketball single-elimination tournament, hosted by Ninth Grade Academy, gets underway Tuesday of this week.
Games continue on Thursday with the championships on Friday night.
Admission is $4 for everyone school age and above.
From the girls’ regular season, South Lincoln’s Lady Eagles (7-1) finish as the one seed; Blanche Lady Bulldogs (5-2) is the two; Highland Rim’s Lady Hornets (5-3), three; Flintville’s Lady Bobcats (1-7), the four; and Unity’s Lady Lions (1-6), the five seed.
A makeup game between the Lady Bulldogs and Lady Lions was to be played Monday night but results will not affect seeding.
In the girls’ action in the first game Tuesday at 4 p.m., Flintville matches up with Unity. At 6:30 p.m., Blanche meets Highland Rim.
On Thursday, South Lincoln will meet the winner of Flintville and Unity. The winner of that game will compete for the girls’ championship Friday at 6 p.m. against the winner of Blanche and Highland Rim.
In the boys’ action, Highland Rim’s Hornets (8-0) are the one seed; South Lincoln’s Eagles (5-3), the two; Flintville’s Bobcats (5-3), the three; Unity’s Lions (1-6), the four; and the Blanche Bulldogs (0-7), the five seed.
Unity and Blanche boys have a makeup game that was scheduled for Monday night, but the outcome will not affect seeding.
In the first boys’ game getting underway Tuesday at 5:15 p.m., Unity meets Blanche. Flintville matches up with South Lincoln in the second game at 7:45 p.m.
Thursday, Highland Rim plays the winner of the Unity versus Blanche game starting at 7:15 p.m.
The winner of that game advances to meet the winner of Flintville and South Lincoln for the championship Friday at 7:15 p.m.
