Copperweld Honored Copperweld accepts a check for $14,000 from Fayetteville Public Utilities as part of the TVA Major Industrial Program. In an effort to reduce electrical consumption, Copperweld made the capital investment to replace a vintage heat induction unit with a new state-of-the-art high-efficiency unit. The vintage unit, of tube technology, was installed in the mid-1970s. Used to heat steel rods to extremely elevated degrees within seconds, the heat induction unit is an essential part of the Copperweld process. The new unit reduced power consumption by 40%, resulting in the TVA award.
