Fayetteville City Schools will hold pre-kindergarten registration for the 2017-18 year at Ralph Askins Elementary on Thursday, Feb. 23, from 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Applicants must be four-years-old by Aug. 15, 2017 to qualify for admission. An applicant may not exceed four years of age prior to Aug. 15, 2017.
Both city and county residents may apply for admission into this program.
Fayetteville City’s Pre-K program is a full-day program, from 7:40 a.m. until 2:15 p.m., which also offers an extended care before and after regular school hours through its Fayetteville After School Time (FAST).
“Children enrolled in the pre-k program at Ralph Askins will have the advantage of transitioning to kindergarten in the same facility,” said Fran Rawleigh, supervisor with the school system.
“All pre-k classes are taught by highly-qualified teachers holding advanced degrees,” she added. “Each pre-k class has two adults working with no more than 20 students at all times.”
Parents should bring the following items to Ralph Askins School in order to register their child: certified birth certificate; the child’s social security card; a current Tennessee Immunization Record and physical form or appointment card; proof of residence, such as an electric bill or telephone bill, but not a driver’s license or P.O. Box); and verification of income according to the state guidelines for pre-k enrollment.
Ralph Askins School is located at 901 Shady Lane, at the end of Third Avenue in Fayetteville. Transportation to or from the pre-k program is not provided by the school system.
