The third annual Wine, Chocolate and Cheese fundraiser will once again be hosted by John Karby of Edward Jones Investments with 100 percent of the funds raised benefiting the Humane Society of Lincoln County and Junior’s House Child Advocacy Center.
Proudly featured this year is the Blue Velvet Combo, whose members include locals Bob and Bartie Scott, Ellen Hood and Danny Charles.
The Lincoln County Museum & Civic Center will be the venue on Monday, Feb. 25, from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m.
“We are looking forward to a bigger and better event with each year, and this one is no exception,” Karby said. “The theme of ‘Share the Love’ exemplifies the commitment of both groups in caring for abused and neglected children and that of the animals in our community, as well. Both groups have very active boards and volunteers who look forward to helping out for such wonderful causes, and I’m proud to be a part of this event.”
“The chocolate will be handmade in Lynchburg by Nina’s Taste of Tennessee, and we will also feature Moonshine Whisky Fudge, which is also handmade by The Dry County Still General Store. Both are located on the square in downtown Lynchburg. Other local businesses lending a hand are Kahuana and The Liquor Locker,” added Heather Warden, executive director of Junior’s House.
Along with the cheese and chocolate, there will also be variety of deli meats, fruit, crackers and bread to accompany the five assortments of wine. A silent auction will also be included with a diverse mix of gift baskets, art and other items donated by community businesses and individuals.
Tickets are $30 each and are available at the Animal Shelter, Junior’s House, John Karby-Edward Jones and First Commerce Bank.
