The event, which will get underway at 6:30 p.m., is sponsored by the Lincoln County 4-H Honor Club, with proceeds going toward youth involved in 4-H clubs across the county.
There will be pit barbecue chicken for sale, as well as plenty of good home cooking, with homemade pies, hamburgers, drinks and snacks.
Thirty classes will be included in the show, a Tennessee Walking Horse event, beginning with the good humored stick horse class, in which ribbons will be awarded.
Other, more competitive classes are lead line ponies, country pleasure for youth ages 14 and under, walking weanling open, two-year-old walking mares and geldings, lightly shod open specialty, walking yearling for fillies, junior riders 11 and under on mares and geldings (no canter), two-year-old amateur open, country pleasure walking horses specialty for adults, two-year-old walking stallions, trail pleasure open, park pleasure walking horses specialty, amateur specialty class, youth trail pleasure, junior riders 12 to 17 years of age on mares or geldings specialty, walking yearling horse colts, three-year-old walking stallions, park performance open specialty 15.2 hands and under open, three-year-old amateur open, walking ponies 60 inches and under specialty youth, three-year-old walking mares and geldings, amateur aged walking horses open, four-year-old walking stallions, four-year-old amateur open specialty, show pleasure walking horses open specialty, amateur rider 15.2 hands and under specialty open; walking mares and geldings five years and over, and walking horses championship.
Cash awards are being offered five deep in the more competitive classes, and entry fees depend on class, ranging from $10 and $25 to $50 in the championship.
Brent Grider of Columbia, Ky., will be the judge of the show, and Chip Walters of Shelbyville will serve as the announcer. Brian Perry of Fayetteville will be the organist. Photographer Jack Greene will also be on hand for the show, which is being managed by Hayes Ellett of Fayetteville. Class sheets are sponsored by Brook Haven Farms.
